The wonderfully soft fabrics, genuine handwork and fun patterns are just too hard to resist! Lapuan Kankurit is a family business, with roots stretching back to 1917, the year when Finland gained its independence. Luxurious and real fabrics, such as washed linen, linen terry and warm wool, are handcrafted into blankets, pocket scarves, towels, hot water bottle covers and other beautiful goods. Weaving is done on location at the Lapua mill, in the Southern Ostrobothnia region of Finland.

ps. Kankuri is an old word meaning ‘weaver’. In modern language, kankaankutoja might sink in a bit easier.
